God wants you to do what’s hard in service for one another. Be a Luke 14 kind of host.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and for me, sitting at a table? It ain’t easy! With my wheelchair, I often don’t fit underneath someone’s dining room table. Always they have to move a chair aside, and then my husband or a friend has to help me with my meal. And then of course, someone has to cut up my food on my plate, and lift my glass. You know, I think about this whenever I read Luke 14 where Jesus says, “When you give a banquet, invite the crippled, the lame and the blind and you will be blessed.” I mean, if you ever threw a dinner party for a bunch of blind, paralyzed people, you’d discover real fast it’s not easy. A lot of accommodations need to be made. But that’s the whole point! God wants us to do what’s hard in service for another. So, friend, you can be a Luke 14 kind of host. How? Well visit joniandfriends.org for ways on how you can serve someone with a disability.
