When there’s repentance, there’s always healing.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And more and more, the older I get, the more I see the need to keep shortlists with friends and family. What do I mean by that? Well, there are plenty of times I know I offend with a careless comment or a lack of thoughtfulness, and I could let it slip by. But instead, I try to set things straight right away, like, “Ken, what I said was really stupid; I’m sorry I offended you. I was wrong; would you please forgive me?” It's not enough to apologize, is it? Just saying “I’m sorry” just doesn’t cut it. It falls short of real repentance. No, if there’s been an offense, there has to be an exchange – I confess my sin, and my husband pardons me. And thankfully, it happens a lot! The Bible says, “Confess your sins one to another and you will be healed.” Today, try and keep shortlists with your friends and family. For when there’s repentance, there is always healing.
