God specializes in the impossible—He can help you accomplish what seems way beyond your own strength!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Second Kings 6 tells a story about a man chopping trees, whose ax head fell into a stream. Since it was a borrowed ax, the man asked Elisha to help. The prophet made the iron float, and the man was able to reach in the water and retrieve it. Now, that’s quite a story! An ax head that floats? Everybody knows that’s utterly impossible. But friend, that’s the point of the story. It’s why it’s included in the Bible. God wants you to know that he is in the business of doing the impossible. So, look – if God is calling you to undertake a work far exceeding your strength; if it seems absurd to even attempt it, remember the floating ax head and let your faith rise to the occasion! The God of Elisha still lives, and he lives to help you. He’ll provide the strength and ability – but he wants you to provide the faith. So, believe God, move out ahead, and just watch the ax swim!
