Instead of drifting through life, use God as a supernatural anchor when currents are pulling you away.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. You know drifting on a lake in a fishing boat is one thing; but drifting in life is something else entirely. If you fall asleep in a fishing boat, nothing much happens. But if you try to sleepwalk through life, you’re going to end up shipwrecked. Hebrews 2 tells us that, “We must pay more careful attention, therefore, to what we have heard, so that we do not drift away.” Friend, drifting away from Christ comes naturally. But it’s supernatural to anchor yourself to him when strong currents are pulling you away. Every day of our lives we are rowing upstream, against the tide. And it is possible for any of us to drift or sink morally or spiritually. So, do not coast away from your first love of Jesus. Don’t look at the end of a day, a week, a year, and be stunned at the distance between you and God. These are times to anchor yourself to his word, so that you won’t drift.
