A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

Don't Judge

Episode Summary

Don’t become discouraged by people’s judgment. They might look on the outside, but God looks on the inside. He looks at your heart.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Jessica is a teenage girl who is frustrated about her invisible disability; you see, she has frequent seizures. What’s frustrating is, Jessica looks so normal; people have a hard time believing she’s disabled. But when she’s out in public, and loses consciousness, she’s actually grateful that her invisible disability becomes a little more visible. At least that way, people believe her. Jessica’s story is more common than you think. Oh friend, all around us there are people who suffer in ways we cannot see or comprehend. It’s why 1 Samuel 16 says, “Do not judge by appearance.” And if you have an invisible disability, that verse is for you. Because it goes on to say, “The Lord looks at the heart” – your heart. Oh friend he knows your suffering, so don’t become discouraged by people’s judgment. They might look on the outside, but God looks on the inside.
