Today, put to death all your selfish wants and wishes, trusting that through the sacrifice of praise, God will raise up a plentiful harvest. Don’t just live – live dead!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently, I met with several missionaries from Africa. One missionary named Greg was wearing the oddest polo shirt—the logo over his chest read, "Live dead." How strange! I mean, how can you livedead?When I asked Greg about it, he quoted Jesus's words from John 12. There our Savior says, "I tell you the truth, unless a kernel of wheat is planted in the soil and dies, it remains alone. But its death will produce many new kernels—a plentiful harvest of new lives." Greg explained that we Christians are called to 'die to self' each day; for it is only through losing our lives for the sake of Christ that God increases his kingdom. What wise words! Friend, I invite you to join Greg and put to death all selfish wants and wishes, trusting that through our sacrifice of praise, God will raise up a plentiful harvest! Today, don’t just live – live dead!
