Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And every year, right before Easter, a certain plant comes alive on my patio with bright, red blossoms. It’s called the "Crown of Thorns" bush and I always enjoy drawing close to it to examine its delicate flowers – as well as its huge, thick, nail-like thorns. Tradition says this was the bush from which the Roman soldiers fashioned Jesus's thorny crown. Now, I don't know if that's true, but just gazing at that "Crown of Thorns" bush is a vivid reminder of the pain and sacrifice my Savior endured on our behalf. Hebrews 12 says, “For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.” Are you facing a painful, thorny trial? Look to Jesus today and you will not grow weary or lose heart.
