If things are hard in your life right now, trust that God is good. Don’t let hardships break your faith; let them build your faith – Jesus is worth it!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I have a Christian friend who, after botched surgeries and unrelenting pain, he decided to throw in the towel. He just gave up on God. He became broken by suffering instead of being built up by it. Jesus described people like my friend in Mark 4 “They have no root in themselves but endure for a while; then, when tribulation or persecution arises on account of the word, immediately they fall away.” You know some people who hear the Word receive it gladly at first and even appear to follow Christ closely. But then, when suffering hits, they just can’t take it; rather than choose to believe that God has a purpose, they feel He has abandoned them. Oh, but nothing could be further from the truth. So, if things are hard in your life right now, trust that God is good. Then, don’t let hardships break your faith; let them build your faith. For the Lord Jesus is worth it!
