Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Last summer Micah went on an eight-mile hike in the Kauai jungle. The trail’s destination boasted the most beautiful waterfall on the island. But because the hike is so strenuous, few travelers attempt it. The path wasn’t used much, so Micah had to hack his way through thick foliage. He was exhausted at the end, but the majestic beauty of that waterfall was worth it. It was especially glorious because of the enormous effort it took to reach it. Not many people will see what Micah saw – but he counted the cost and decided it was worth it. Acts 14 says that we must go through many hardships to enter the kingdom of heaven. But when, through diligently seeking the Lord, we apprehend Him, oh, the glories of His majesty! Your intimacy with Christ will seem doubly delightful. Why? Because you counted the cost and decided Jesus is worth it.
