A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

Dropped the Stitch

Episode Summary

Sometimes, you have to go back to where mistakes were made and correct your error – you’ll then feel the reward.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And my friend Patti has great talent for crochet. Once Patti showed me a beautiful, long table runner that she had hand-made and she said, “Joni, see this tiny knot? This is where I made a mistake. I had to go all the way back to this place where I had dropped a stitch and then unravel everything to pick up from there. It took me hours, but I did it!” Wow. Patti’s words remind me of Matthew 5 where Jesus says, “If you remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift…and go...be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” Friend, often we have to go back where mistakes have been made, but oh, the reward that comes when we leave what we’re doing, “go back” and correct our error. Today, ask God to show you where you have “dropped the stitch.”
