Make it your goal to finish well in life.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. On a recent trip, someone asked Ken and me how they could pray for us. My husband and I smiled, looked at each other, and Ken replied, “Pray that we finish well; we just want to finish well.” You know, we have no idea what the future holds, but as we age, aches and pains and complications connected with my disability will certainly encroach. There will be deep disappointments, strong temptations. When that happens, we do not want to stumble in sin and make God look bad or smear His reputation or stain His good name. We don’t want to shrink from the front lines of service and take the easy route. No, it’s about enduring and persevering, and staying strong. For us, that’s what it means to finish well. Matthew 24:13 says “The one who endures to the end will be saved.” So, friend, no matter what your age, join Ken and me in finishing well.
