Examine your heart and be slow to speak because the Lord isn’t happy with grumblers.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I don’t know about you, but doesn’t it seem there’s a lot of complaining going on nowadays? I was at Macy’s, and I couldn’t believe the way the shopper in front of me at the counter was complaining to the salesclerk; she had brought in a blouse to return, and this customer was raking the clerk up one side and down the other! Man, our society is in trouble! You know, even Christians are in trouble when it comes to complaining. I mean look at the book of Jude. In the 14th verse it says that God will come, “... to convict all the ungodly of all the ungodly acts they have done in the ungodly way. These men are [what? Mass murderers? Drug pushers?] No, it says they are “grumblers.” Yikes! So, Christian, examine your heart and be slow to speak. Make sure your concerns are legitimate and you're not just giving voice to a complaining spirit. ‘Cause the Lord isn’t happy with grumblers.
