When trials come looking to destroy your faith and tear apart your peace of mind, remember to face troubles head-on – it’ll show the world that Jesus is greater than any adversary!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I love the way David in 1 Samuel 17 describes how he tackled wild animals when he was a shepherd boy. He said, “When a lion or a bear came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it, struck it and rescued the sheep… When it turned on me, I seized it by its hair, and killed it.” David certainly went after the lions in his life. Rather than hiding or cowering from them, he pursued them. And his courage tells me not to be afraid of the lions in my life, ’cause when lion-sized trials come looking to destroy my faith or tear apart my peace of mind, I have to remember to face troubles head-on. And friend, your trials give you the chance to show to an unbelieving world that Jesus, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, is greater than any adversary. In him you are an overcomer in your lion-sized trial.
