Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and I know that when it comes to my Christian life, I’m at first and goal with just a few yards between me and the goalposts. I am running the plays with perseverance, and the end zone is within reach just over the horizon. Oh, sure, I stumble and fumble my way toward the goal, but every day draws me closer to heaven. Charles Spurgeon once wrote that, “Every step we take is going home. It may be knee-deep in trouble, but it is all on the road home. We may be ankle-deep in fear, but [we’re] going home. I may stumble, but I always stumble toward home. My afflictions and griefs may cast me down, but they always cast me forward on the road toward heaven. It will soon be over. [So] Come, Christian! Thou art going home!” I love that. So, today, if you fall, make sure you fall forward, gaining a few yards in your journey home.
