Find ways to do sacrificial service to people with disabilities in need. You can find out more resources on how to do that at joniradio.org.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And all around us there are families with disabilities in need. Like Robyn and Nicholas, who not long ago were featured on the news. When Nicholas was diagnosed with cancer, doctors gave him only a few years to live. Because Nicholas requires 24-hour supervision, his wife has become his primary caregiver. And with no income, this young family of four was left homeless — that is, until a Facebook post led to a woman hearing about their story and welcoming them into her home. In Deuteronomy 15, the Lord tells us to, “Open wide your hand to your brother, and to the needy and the poor, in your land.” And that’s exactly what this generous woman did for Robin and Nicholas and her two children. It is the kind of sacrificial service God expects of all of his children. So, find ways to open your hand to people with disabilities in need. You can do so at joniradio.org.
