Today, get out of the way in order for God to be exalted.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I will never forget the first time I was astounded by the sight of the ocean. On our farm, there were plenty of ponds and creeks to wade in, and even a nearby river to swim in. But when we camped at the beach, the first thing I did was run to the top of the sand dunes to take in that wide and wonderful; that mysterious, beautiful sight – the Atlantic Ocean. It made me feel so very, very small. And my diminished sense of myself made that massive ocean all the more majestic. Deuteronomy 5:24 describes the first time God showed his glory and majesty to the elders of God’s people. They, too, felt small for having witnessed God’s majesty. So today, friend, get out of the way in order for God to be exalted. Empty your heart of cherished ideas of your own importance. For when you feel your littleness, God always seems great.
