Be filled with the Holy Spirit today, and his grace and goodness will bubble up from within you to bless others.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and when I was a little girl on our family farm, one of my favorite places was the big pond in the pasture. But I always wondered where the water came from. Daddy explained that the pond was fed from a spring – a source from deep down in the earth. But because I could not see that spring, because it was hidden, I had a hard time understanding it all – I kept looking for a stream, you know, something on the outside to be filling up the pond. Well, that’s the way many of us picture the work of the Spirit. We imagine him being poured into our lives from the outside, but just like that pond, when the Bible talks about us being filled with the Spirit, we should picture a spring. Remember, God’s Word says that out of you shall flow rivers of living water. When we obey God, his Spirit is a fresh source of grace and goodness that can bubble up from within us, from way down deep in our hearts to bless others. So today, be filled with the Spirit.
