Thank God today for the surgery of salvation that heals sinful hearts!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And born in countryside of West Africa, Mariama became pregnant at age 15. But with a pelvis that was too small and a hospital that was too far, Mariama suffered a permanent injury during childbirth. It meant a constant leakage with a strong stench. Yes, it sounds repulsive, and poor Mariama suffered isolation because of it; but thankfully, a volunteer surgical team repaired Mariama’s problem. With a clean dress and a healed body, she is free from pain and public humiliation. Why do I share this hard story? We need to know that the stench of our sin is far more humiliating than anything Mariama could suffer. But Revelation 19 speaks of a time when we, the bride of Christ, will be healed and given “fine linen, bright and clean to wear.” So, we may be more like Mariama than we realize, friend. Thank God for the surgery of salvation that heals sinful hearts!
