God’s word will never go out of style!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And don’t you love it when you find something you didn’t even know had gone missing? Like the other day when I found a little velvet bag on one of my closet shelves. In it were long forgotten pieces of silver jewelry left over from the 1980s. Everything was badly tarnished, but after some polishing—boy did those pieces glow! I tell you; I got so many compliments on that jewelry. And it reminded me of Psalm 12 that says, “The words of the Lord are flawless, like silver purified in a crucible….” Because when God’s word begins to live through your life, his promises make you shine like purified, polished silver. What’s more? Others will notice [that’s the whole point behind the shine]. So, friend, let’s not shelve God’s word in a closet; let’s not consider it “out-of-fashion.” You’ve got something of high value in your reach, so don’t lose it and don’t forget it.
