Keep your focus fixed on Jesus and your home in heaven.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And now that I am over 65 years old, and feeling the aches and pains of older age, I’ve been thinking about how I’m heading in two directions. What directions am I talking about, and what does age have to do with it? Well, 2 Corinthians says that while outwardly we are wasting away, inwardly we are being renewed. See what I mean by two directions? On one hand, my physical abilities and strength is diminishing; yet on the other hand, my spiritual ability and strength is increasing – and just when my physical life will give out? My new life in heaven will instantly begin – and that’s a wonderful direction to be heading in! So, hey, if you’re feeling aches and pains, no matter what age you are, remember a Christian is supposed to be heading in two directions at the same time. Outwardly wasting away and inwardly being renewed. So, friend, keep your focus on Jesus and your home in heaven.
