Keep fixing your eyes on the wonderful glories above.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Sometimes my disability screams for my undivided attention; it wants me to focus on it now; it demands that I worry about it and nothing else – catheters, pressure sores or wheelchair batteries. At times, I feel like it’s my entire focus! And that’s why I am constantly having to refocus on 2 Corinthians 4:18 where it says, “So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.” So, guess what, wheelchair?! You are not the focus of my life! Instead, I’m going to fix my eyes on what is unseen; that is, eternal things, heavenly hope, and the overwhelming glory that awaits me because I am laying up the treasures of my heart above. So, friend, if your daily routines demand your focus, don’t let them be the focus of your life. Don’t let them have their ways. Keep fixing your eyes on the wonderful glories above.
