Follow Don’s lead and lend a helping hand to someone in need.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and when my secretary Francie lost her husband, she realized in that big empty house, she needed help. I mean, without a husband around, who’s going to fix the leaking faucet or move the refrigerator when it breaks, or clean out the rain gutters, right? Well, for Francie, her friends Don and Sheryl took her under their wings. Although Don is retired, he loves to serve. I mean, come on, the guy can only play so much golf, go on so many cruises, and watch so much TV retired, right? This man would rather be serving others; he’s a Galatians 6 kind-of-guy, where it says, “As we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” So, let me encourage you to follow Don’s lead [especially if you’re retired], and lend a helping hand to someone in need. The opportunities are out there and as Christians, it’s our responsibility to help.
