Follow the example of Joni’s good friend Hal and proclaim the Gospel to everyone, everywhere.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And several years ago, I visited a local nursing home where I met an elderly man named Hal Riddle. It was a home for people who worked in the movie industry, and most of them were very cynical about spiritual things—but not Hal. When he was an actor in New York, he became aware that something was missing in his life. That’s when a friend led him to Christ and Hal Riddle became on fire for the Lord from then on out. Hal would tell me, “Joni, when it’s time for me to go home to be with Jesus, I want you to come back here, speak at my memorial service, and tell all these cynical people about Jesus. We can’t let one of them slip by without hearing the good news.” And when my friend finally passed away? I did just that. Oh, friend, follow Hal’s example and the words of Jesus in Mark 16 and “proclaim the Gospel” to everyone, everywhere.
