How you react to trials will really show you whether your faith is real or not.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Jen Barrick, when she was in her early teens, loved to sing praise songs and memorize scripture. She was just a kid who loved Jesus! But then, when she was 15 years old, Jen and her family were in a terrible car accident. And Jen was in a coma for 5 weeks. But an amazing thing happened as this teenager began to come up out of that coma. Although her brain injury was serious, her first utterances were the words of her favorite praise songs. Then, only half aware of her surroundings, she began quoting scripture! All this because of her spiritual disciplines from her early teens. Jen Barrick is a great example of 1 Peter 1 where it says, “Trials will show that our faith is genuine.” Let Jen’s story encourage you the next time you are faced with a tough trial. The hard things all happen to prove that your faith in Jesus really is genuine.
