Get Dressed in Honor

Episode Summary

Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience just as the Bible says.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and recently, Ken and I were reading in Exodus – oh, my goodness, so many details. The priests had to wear a certain kind of linen embroidered in a specific way. There were regulations about the tassels, turbans, the ephod, breast plate, the belt. I was overwhelmed, which is why we flipped to 1 Peter to read about our priesthood. It says there, “You are a royal priesthood, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.” And how are we to clothe ourselves as priests? The Bible says, “… as God’s chosen people… clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Rather than being compelled by the Old Testament law; we are compelled by the mercies of God – and it sure is a joy every day to ‘get dressed’ in clothes that honor the Lord Jesus!
