It takes work and action to get engaged in your own sanctification, but as you act, God will transform you.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. We’ve got so many catchy phrases that describe the Christian walk these days. And some of them are pretty good, but some of those catchy phrases, well, I would dare to say that they are downright destructive. Like, “Let go and let God.” I mean, that would not work for me, because I can be lazy, and if I were to let go and let God, if I were just to sit back and take a hands-off approach to my walk with Christ, I would never mature. That’s why it says in Philippians 2, “Continue to work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.” Did you hear that? It takes work, it takes action to get engaged in your own sanctification. But as you do, God will then take care of the transformation. So today, continue – I like that word – continue to work out your own salvation, knowing that God is working hard in you.
