A follower of Jesus shouldn’t reflect a life that’s sluggish because the Holy Spirit who resides in you should be your constant source of freshness. So, friend, get with the flow!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And back on our family farm in Maryland, there was a gurgling spring down by the barn. Its waters spilled over the trough, creating a stream that ran down into the river. Crayfish and tadpoles made their home in that stream – rabbit and deer would drink from it. And thick green grass and reeds lined its sides. It’s the nature of a spring to overflow into a stream – always giving, always moving from the source to the river’s end, always providing life to the critters and creatures that from it drink. And that’s the way Jesus describes his followers in John 7. He says, “Whoever believes in me, streams of living water will flow from within him.” A follower of Jesus shouldn’t reflect a life that’s sluggish or inactive because the Holy Spirit who resides in you should be your constant source of freshness. So, friend, get with the flow! Be a stream of water for dry and thirsty people around you!
