It will be wonderful to have a new body in heaven, but it will be even better to have a new heart.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and every morning, I confess my sins and I ask God to search out any that I have not yet brought into his light. And God always honors that. Even after all these years, God is still searching my heart with his spotlight, just like Psalm 139 says; he is always looking “if there is any offensive way in me.” You know, I like starting my day that way, but, oh, how I long for the time when I will no longer need to confess my sins. In heaven, it’ll be glorious beyond words to have a heart that no longer resists God or whines if it can’t get its way or grows dark when life feels hard. It’ll be wonderful to have a new body, but oh, it’ll be glorious to have a new heart. So, ask God to shine his spotlight on any unconfessed sin and get your heart ready for heaven!
