Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Fresh out of the hospital, my first few months at home in a wheelchair were terribly depressing. I knew that the Bible probably contained answers to my problems, but I had no idea where to look. But God brought my way a 17-year-old boy name Steve. And we made this agreement: if I supplied cola and sandwiches, he would meet with me every Thursday evening and open up the Bible to me. Steve had a remarkable gift of teaching, and God used his gift to lift me out of my darkness. It’s interesting that Steve knew nothing about disabilities; he just wanted to use his gift on someone in need. And Christian, there are many hurting people around you, needing just a typical person to share the heart of Jesus with them. Romans 12 says that you have a gift that can make a difference.
