Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I love the way Jesus treats people with disabilities in Scripture. In Mark 10, a blind man named Bartimaeus heard that Jesus was passing by, and he began to loudly call out to him. Many in the crowd shoved him aside and told him to “shut up.” To them, he was nothing but a nuisance. But when Jesus stopped and told his followers to bring Bartimaeus forward, boy, did those people change their tune. Once everybody understood that Jesus thought this poor disabled guy was important, he was given the VIP treatment. Their whole attitude switched from negative to positive. And, friend, you can help change the attitudes of those around you through your example as you show the love of Christ to people with disabilities.
