Don’t let the sad state of mankind discourage you – let that fact energize your sharing of the gospel.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently, while Ken and I were in New York on a ministry tour, we had a chance to visit Niagara Falls. Covered in a rain slicker and soaking wet, I looked up into the underside of those big falls and kept yelling above the roar, “God is so awesome!” Sitting there just a few yards away from the falls, it was a great picture of our mighty God and his deafening, soul-shaking power. But as we walked back to our hotel past casinos, bars and a Ripley’s Believe-It-Or-Not, I kept thinking, oh, Lord, the epitome of your creation is not Niagara Falls; it’s supposed to be man. And, oh, what a horrible mess people are in and how they need a Savior! I tell you what, it energized us to be all the more bold in sharing the Gospel on the rest of our trip. So, look around you. Yes, mankind is in a sad state. But don’t let that discourage you – let that fact energize your giving of the Gospel, too.
