Today, if you’re fearful of that trial that’s lurking, dare to be like David. Go after it!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I remember as a kid reading the story of David, the shepherd boy, who said, “When a lion came and carried off a sheep from the flock, I went after it.” Many years later, I now understand the lesson. Because I love the way David “went after” the lions in his life. Rather than run away from them, he pursued them. And his courage tells me not to be afraid of my adversary, the devil, and to be brave when lion-sized trials come looking to destroy my faith or tear apart my peace of mind. We can face trials head-on, friend, because each trial gives us the chance to demonstrate to an unbelieving world that Jesus, the lion of Judah, is greater than any adversary. In him, you are strong; you are an overcomer; you are victorious. So, if today, you’re fearful of that trial that’s lurking, that’s looking for a chance to devour, dare to be a David. Go after it!
