Just as God treasures you, He also cares deeply for every part of His creation—including your pets.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and growing up on the farm, I loved riding my horse Tumbleweed through the trails of the state park that bordered our farm. Oh, how I treasure so many bridle path memories with that mare. And you know what? I think Tumbleweed held a special place in God’s heart too. Psalm 36, says, “Your love, Lord, reaches to the heavens, your faithfulness to the skies. Your righteousness is like the highest mountains…You, oh Lord, preserve both people and animals. How priceless is your unfailing love!” Wow did you hear that? Right in the middle of a passage about God’s unfailing love for people, is the reference to His care for animals! I love that! It means God loves His creation—and that includes your German Shepherd, your shorthair cat, your parakeet, palomino, and yes, even that little goldfish! Not only do you care for your pet, God does too.
