God prizes your faith so much that he sends troubles to strengthen it.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and my disability has showed me that God values my faith more than any other quality in my life, except maybe love. God prizes our faith – so much so, that he sends troubles so that it will be strengthened. He fortifies our faith by testing it. He makes our faith strong by buffeting it. And so, when we choose to trust God in our suffering, it proves our faith as genuine. The apostle Peter wrote about this to people who were being persecuted and thrown to lions. Yet he could say to them in 1 Peter 1:7, “These troubles come to prove that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold, for your faith is far more precious than mere gold.” So, friend, when God gives you trials, it shows your faith is more precious than gold, and you know what? You are, too.
