God hears the cry of the afflicted all around the world. How can you listen to their cries?
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Our Wheels for the World team travels all throughout the world, providing wheelchairs and Bibles to people with disabilities – people like Walter. Some years ago, Walter and his mother were walking down a steep mountain path in Honduras when they got caught in the crossfire of a gang war. Walter’s mother was killed; and he fell to the ground, paralyzed from a bullet. For years, Walter lived alone in his bedroom with only chickens wandering in and out as his friends. But Psalm 10 says God hears the cry of the afflicted, and when Christians in Walter’s village brought him to our wheelchair distribution, oh, sure, Walter’s prayer for a new wheelchair was answered; but he also received a greater gift – the gift of salvation.
