Ask God to wake you up with a bright and godly attitude every morning.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada, and years ago, I read an article in the L.A. Times about Karen Carter, a 106-year-old woman born in 1886. She had outlived three husbands and had over 100 grandchildren, great and great‑great grandchildren. So, what kept her going? She said in the article, “There are a lot of people who are worse off than I am. I go to sleep with the angels and I wake up with God in my heart. What else could an old woman ask for?” Bless her heart! Mrs. Carter’s comments remind me of Psalm 17 where it says, “When I awake, I will be satisfied with seeing your likeness.” Oh, friend, to be satisfied first thing in the morning when you wake up knowing God is in your heart – what a way to start your day, what a way to live your life, whether you are 106 or 26. So when you go to bed tonight, ask God to wake you up with a bright and godly attitude – it’ll be a great way to start your day.
