There are so many single mothers caring for children with disabilities—and we as the body of Christ can show them love. Learn how you can reach out to these families by visiting us at joniradio.org.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. It was a hot, humid day in Cuba and at our wheelchair distribution, sat Adriana—all alone, waiting for her severely disabled daughter to be fitted to a wheelchair. She had no husband by her side, no relatives to help her—and you could tell, Adriana was lonesome. But that’s when one of our Wheels for the Worldteam members opened her Bible to Psalm 68 and softly read to Adriana, “God sets the lonely in families.”Soon after that, the mother of another disabled daughter sitting nearby approached Adriana. And soon, Adriana felt herself surrounded by genuine love—all from other believers who reminded her she was not alone. Friend, like Adriana there are many single mothers caring for children with disabilities—and we as the body of Christ can show them love.
