Today, choose to make the trinity actively involved in your life.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And recently when I was reading 1 Peter, the apostle begins his letter by saying, “To God’s elect, exiles scattered throughout the provinces.” My eyes caught that word scattered. Sure, Peter was writing encouragement to believers who had been dispersed by persecution; but you don’t have to be facing persecution to feel like one of the scattered saints. Maybe you find yourself in a small apartment in a big city. Or you feel like a stranger in your own community. You feel out of the flow, and a little isolated. Well, if you do, just remember the first part of that epistle. Because you are God’s elect. You have been chosen by the Father, set apart by the Spirit for obedience to Jesus Christ. Oh friend, the entire Trinity is actively involved in your life. And that, my friend, puts you squarely in the middle of the mainstream of the main stream.
