When your dreams are crushed, remember – God’s judgment is just and fair. You will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God for which you are suffering.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. In 1979, a young man named Jack Fischer came to hear me speak at a local church. Jack was a nationally ranked gymnast who was training for the 1980 Olympics. However, just a month later, he broke his neck while practicing a dismount off the parallel bars. He would be a quadriplegic for life. So, was God being fair in allowing Jack's accident? Especially on the brink of this young man's Olympic dream? A good answer to that is found in 2 Thessalonians 1, where it says, "All this is evidence that God's judgment is right, and as a result you will be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you are suffering." Oh friend, that’s something to remember if your dreams have been crushed or broken. Because even when we are hit by the unexpected – yes, even when we suffer – God is just; God is fair. Just ask my friend, Jack who’s one of the happiest Christians I know.
