Never give up praying for your lost friend because God will never stop searching and loving for that person.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. In Luke 15 we find the parable of the lost sheep. Jesus describes a shepherd who leaves 99 sheep out in the open country just to go seeking after a lost one. Now on the surface, that’s a bad lesson on successful sheep ranching—leaving an entire flock to search for one lost sheep. It’s a sure way to lose ninety-nine more, right? But that’s not the point. The point is, yes, the shepherd loved the 99, but his heart was with that lost one. And after searching high and low, he finally found that lost lamb and carried it home. He even called his friends so they could rejoice with him. Oh, this is how much Jesus loves that one, that lost soul that you’ve been praying over for so long. Yes, maybe that lost one, perhaps a family member, a close friend – maybe he’s a rebel. Maybe others see no worth in him. But remember the heart of your good shepherd. Never give up praying because his heart never stops searching and loving.
