Next time you’re huffing and puffing, make sure to tell your heart to stop grumbling. Oh the peace that God will bring between you and your friends!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And there we were – Ken, Judy, and I – trying to make plans to have lunch, while at the same time arranging a hospital visit with our sick friend, and sorting out who was going to pick up who. Just three little things that needed to get worked out, but I tell you what! You would have thought we were trying to figure out an evacuation plan for the next hurricane. I mean we went round and round, what to do with the car, and the discussion quickly digressed into rah-rah-rah, and a lot of grumbling. We were not a pretty sight. Truth is, we’ve all been there – we’ve all argued to the point of huffing and puffing. But there’s a verse in John 6 – a strong exhortation – that says, “Stop grumbling among yourselves.” It’s like Jesus telling us, “Friends just stop it!” So, today, speak to your heart and say it with me, “Stop grumbling!” It may hurt, it may sting, but oh the peace that will come between you and your friends.
