A Moment with Joni Eareckson Tada

Halfway There

Episode Summary

Sharing the Gospel means praying, caring, and pointing people to God’s hope even in suffering.

Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And I received an email from Tony who asked, “Joni, my friend has a progressive eye disease and is going blind. I pray for him regularly, but how can I share the Gospel with someone who lives with such a devastating disease?” Well, that’s a great question, but Tony is already halfway there. Just look at Jesus. He prayed for the lost when he asked the Father to forgive those who were crucifying him. And he befriended the sick and the marginalized. But then I also encouraged Tony to learn more about his friend’s eye disease, and to be prepared to answer questions about the goodness of God and the problem of suffering, such as the story of the man born blind in John 9 or verses like Romans 8:28. And hey, you too can share the Gospel message. Just come by joniandfriends.org for tips on how to witness to a person with a disability. Visit me today on my radio page at joniandfriends.org.
