Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And whenever I travel around the world, sometimes I’m hampered by language barriers. But oh, the joy that comes when I encounter Christians in those countries. Because I always smile and say, “Hallelujah!” And it’s the same word around the world. Instantly, I feel a kinship, even though I do not speak Russian, Chinese, or any one of the 79 languages of Ghana, West Africa! If I meet a Christian who doesn’t speak English, I give them a – “Hallelujah”! Other words may vary from language to language, like God or Jesus, but Hallelujah remains the same across the globe. Psalm 8 says, “Oh Lord, how excellent is your name in all the earth.” So friend, next time you travel to Peru, Thailand, or France, or simply take a stroll down the aisles of your nearest international supermarket, give someone a smile and say, “Hallelujah!” It’ll be your praise to God in their language.
