May you sense God's hand on your shoulder today.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and I always love it when special-needs families come to Joni and Friends for a visit. Like Pat and his wife, Barb. Pat shared that up until three years ago, he had been a commercial fisherman in Alaska. But then, he broke his neck in an accident. When my husband came in to greet Pat, he was quick to tell him that it feels good when people rest their hand on his shoulder. “It's the only place I can feel,” Pat told Ken. A few days later, Pat emailed me a photo of a favorite painting of Jesus which, for years, has inspired him. He said to me, “Ever since I was a little boy, I have always pictured myself in this painting and now, I see myself in it more than ever.” I looked closely at the painting. It was Jesus resting his hand on a sailor’s shoulder. Wow! Psalm 119 says, “[O God], May your hand be ready to help me.” Friend, may you sense God's hand on your shoulder today.
