The helping hands you offer to others represent Jesus in a very special way.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. Did you know that when you come up out of a deep disappointment, or time of grief, or a life-altering injury – did you know that you may well be in the best position to comfort others who are disappointed or grieving or coping with a new injury? Second Corinthians 1:4 says so – in a special way, you are the hands of Christ when you serve hurting people out of your own hardships. Because remember: the hands of Jesus bear wounds; His hands have permanent scars. And although you may bear a permanent scar from your own time of suffering, the helping hands you offer to others represent your Savior in a very special way. So, if you are ministering to others out of your own suffering, be encouraged – your helping hands have a powerful touch. Because the hands of Christ that you represent are the hands that have scars.
