One day, Jesus will rid the world of wickedness and bring peace to this troubled planet. What a glorious day that will be!
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. And the other evening, I wanted to watch the nightly news, but Ken moaned, “Oh, do we have to turn it on? Everything you hear is so depressing.” And I know what he means. I used to always like watching the news, especially political news, but not so much anymore. Plus, there’s the violence and tragedy that seems to always fill our screens. Against this bleak backdrop, however, Ephesians 1 reminds us that all things, all powers, whether personal or political; everything is under subject to the Lord Jesus who has been exalted to the very highest place in heaven. Everything has been placed under His feet, even the headlines you wake up to each morning. Jesus rules over all, and one day, He’ll rid the world of wickedness and bring peace to this troubled planet. That’s something to remember the next time you switch on Fox News or CNN.
