God will never leave you – He specifically cares for you.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. One morning, shortly after I got out of rehab from my diving accident, I was sitting in the driveway of my sister’s farmhouse. I was sitting there struggling against depression—feeling lonely and afraid of the future. Now I knew Hebrews 13 where God says He’ll never leave us or forsake us, but right then, I needed to feel it. So, I cried, “Oh, God, please give me a tangible sign that you’re near; that you’re here with me.” At that instant, a beautiful Monarch butterfly flitted by, right in front of my wheelchair. There was no mistake about it—God sent that little creature. And suddenly, I was filled with His peace. Even now, decades later, I still smile whenever I spot a butterfly. It tells me God is near. So, friend, God will never leave you or forsake you either. So today, ask the Lord to reveal Himself to you through His creation. He’s big enough to care that specifically.
