Trials look smaller from a heavenly perspective.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada and it’s so odd that it took a wheelchair – you know, something that bolts me to earth – to make me see the futility of fighting spiritual battles on an earthly plane. When I am tempted to live on the same low level as the grinding gears, and wheels, and bolts of my disability, I make blunder after blunder. I am powerless on an earthly plane until I shift to a higher battleground and choose a heavenly perspective. Looking down on my problems from heaven’s point of view, trials look so different. When viewed from their own level, trials feel like an impassible wall. But when viewed from above, looking down, that wall appears as a thin line, something that can be easily overcome. It’s the birds’ eye view of Isaiah 40 where we are told to “soar on wings like eagles…then we will not be faint.” So, today, shift to a higher battlefield. Because trials always look smaller from a heavenly perspective.
