Episode Transcription

Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. You know, when you have a disability life is full of challenges. Just sitting up in my wheelchair through a long day can be exhausting, and I find myself often praying those simple words from Psalm 30, “Help me, O Lord.” Like yesterday: I wheeled into my office and there, on my desk, was a stack of 100 books that required my signature. Now, I sign my name holding a pen between my teeth, and so when I saw all these books, I was overwhelmed. Well, with one coworker holding the book up close to my mouth, and another flattening the page, I got to work signing my name. But I had to often pause, take a breath, and pray repeatedly, “Help me Lord.” And, hey, I finished in great time. Is your workload a little overwhelming today? Take the counsel of Psalm 30. Pray, and pray often, “Help me, Lord.” You’ll get it done. And you will have His smile.
