Do not fear – Jesus understands and will always be your guide.
Hi, I’m Joni Eareckson Tada. My friend Carole had Lou Gehrig’s disease, a degenerative condition that weakens muscles. Carole lost her ability to speak and move her hands; everything had to be done for her. She once told me, “Joni, when I want something, no one understands. When I know how to do something better, it doesn’t make any difference. When I decide on something, often I’m overruled. Carole goes on to say: “It hurts, but when I read John 28, I am encouraged by Jesus’s words to Peter—that when Peter grew older, someone would lead him where he did not want to go. It comforts me to know that the Lord understands that I am being led in a place where I do not want to go.” What wise insight from Carole! Because life’s turns and twists can take you on a road you did not expect—or want. But do not fear friend. Jesus understands and He will always be your guide.
